We teach how to use the acquired knowledge, provide you with the support of a like-minded community, and give opportunities not only to study but to implement your boldest ideas as well. To be able means to act and make your dreams come true. It is BUR.
We are building trust and responsibility among Ukrainian youth to participate in the development of democratic Ukraine
BUR emerged as a volunteer campaign. It was initiated by Ukrainian Education platform (Lviv Education Foundation) to rebuild houses destroyed by the war in the east of the country.
Organizations of the action felt a spirit of good neighborliness and unity. This gave rise to the biggest volunteering movement in the history of Ukraine.
In cooperation with “UA Comix” we created and published a comic based on true events about the creation of Building Ukraine Together program.
Program Building Ukraine Together became an independent civil organization. BUR has created comfortable living conditions for more than 5000 people from damaged hromadas thanks to 2626 volunteers. We have supported 9 long-term volunteers that have been working with local youth in small communities of Ukraine.
A camp in Voskresensk (Kherson region) was the first to be realized under the project "BUR South. Rebuilding on de-occupied territories of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions" in fall 2023. Volunteers reconstructed the building of village council which was damaged by russian army during occupation, and because of the fragments of the enemy's shell.
Volunteering from the BUR is an opportunity to re-engage and thus strengthen your country at a difficult time for it
BUR started regional activity in 2019 uniting active youth in Ukrainian cities. Thus, first regional centers emerged. Together with BUR they launched 1-2-day local volunteering activities - BURchyks.
Since June 2024, regional offices have been amplifying initiative groups in local communities, contributing to the development of youth civic activity in north and south of Ukraine.
Together, we will create not only physical objects, but much more: inspire local youth to action, volunteering and self-development!
